My first designed fabric with McCall’s #M7969

Hello everyone! It’s March already!!
I thought this year had just started!

Today, I want to share my #M7969.
I finally understand why so many people make this dress. I am currently working on my third one, lol
I have one more fabric in my stash that makes a beautiful dress with the pattern, so that would make four. We will see if I can find the time to make it.

This pattern is so versatile. You can make a casual top like mine and a feminine dress.
I can’t find anything negative about this dress.

Now, let’s talk about the process.
After I started to cut the fabric, I realized that I didn’t have enough for the dress, so I decided to make a top, but the length came out too short of my liking, so I made a skirt, #S8299, thinking that separate piece might imitate dress look.

I like wearing it as a top, better than two pieces together.
What do you think?
My original plan was to cut the skirt and add to the peplum part of the top after removing the original one, but I like the short one even though it’s a tad too short for me.

Fabric: Cotton lawn from @Spoonflower designed by @StudioMeggi(Me!!)
Size: Small
Adjustment: Raise the neckline (The tutorial will be posted soon)

I found a website that might be useful for you, so I am sharing it here.
There are a lot of inspirations and how to hack.

Until next time,

Happy sewing!

xoxo
