White Denim Shorts, Harper @Megan Nilsen Pattern

Hello my friends! I hope you are well. I took myself a time to make this #MNHarper from @megnilsen as a self care.
It was much needed and I feel much better! I know we are so busy with out daily lives, but we have to drop what we are doing time to time and do what you love, so we can keep going.
If we don’t take care of ourselves, no one can do for us, right?

Anyway, this is the first pattern that I made from Megan Nilsen Patterns. Version 1 is short with curved patch pockets, and View 2 is a mid-length pleated skirt with slash pockets.
I made version 1. Aren’t these big patch pockets so cute? I felt in love with these!!
They are having a huge discount on the pattern because discontinuing the pattern and I needed to replace my pairs of shorts so I went for it. I am so glad that I made the decision!

The size range of this pattern are 26”-34” for the waist and 36”-44” for the hip.
My size is small at waist and extra small for the hip. I cut small.

Modification I made
-Took 1/4” at back seams and back facing
-No lining
-Used exposed zipper

The fabric I used:
Stretch denim from @lafinchfabric_new that I got a few years back.

Instruction doesn’t show how to sew without the lining.
If you want to know how to do that, you can check out my story highlights on my IG

I think this pattern is great for the beginners( probably not with lining), who wants to try their patterns like me, or who wants to know how to sew pants with lining.

I absolutely will make more of these. There are tutorials for lengthen them to make both slim and wide leg one.
Last night, I dig out my fabric stash and found a couple that may work. It would be a great start for fall sewing!
I would love to sew a light jacket this fall. What is your sewing plan for this fall?

Until next time, happy sewing!

Meg
